A few months before my 29th birthday I began thinking of my own mortality, well to be honest it was more about the fact that I was going to be turning thirty in just over a year. I became a little contemplative and thought there are several things (30 to be exact) that I’d like to do before I turn thirty. I’d like to think that this list is reflective of who I am or more likely who I want to be. There were quite a few suggestions or ideas that did not make the list. For example when I talked to different people and asked what I should put on my list almost everyone said sky diving. While sky diving sounds very fun it’s also very cliché, not to mention expensive. Most of the items on my list are centered around experiences that I want to have. Some are things I’ll do on my own, others are things I’ll have to do with others. I have every intention of completing this list before December 27th, 2010. I’ll write about my experiences here so I hope you’ll follow along. I’d love to hear what you think about my list and maybe you’ll share your list with me.

Yeah I’m not so sure how I’m gonna do some of those, we’ll see.
Chip,
Great idea and great list. Glad I stumbled upon it. I can help you with a few; anything but the one about the hammock…..
Take care,
Adam
Adam, great to hear from you. I’m assuming that you’re the guy JJ said he was talking to about running the ultra marathon this summer at the Sods. It’s a small world. I’ll leave you out of the hammock one. We’ll have to get together sometime.
i would like to add the virgin forest was my idea/my brothers =]
This is true, sorry for leaving you out Gini.
Yes, definitely a small world. Hope to see you and Karyn soon.
This is fabulous!
Learn to play piano? You better get started! =)
Swim to work!??!
I’m excited to hear about these adventures!
Playing the piano is certainly the most daunting task, but I should have some support. As far as swimming to work, my office is right across the river from my house (relatively) and I’ve been saying for years I was going to just swim to work and not worry about the commute. Now I have a good reason too. I’m excited to share them.
David Burke is offering a photo class here, some Saturday, I believe at the end of the month…I’ll run with you…if you want company…I want to run a 5K (it’s on my list of 30 things to do in my 30′s)…Love the list!
I emailed them, if there’s still spots I’m in.
Great List! Some really interesting ones on there like swim to work and sex in a hammock (it’s difficult enough to get in a hammock let alone that!) I look forward to reading about your adventures!
Thanks for the feedback, I can’t wait to get a few more knocked off the list. How is your list coming along?
Very cool list. I need to make one of my own. I’m intrigued by the Gauley one. Do you mean the river in WV? I hear it’s pretty awesome. I’ve only been on the New, though. Good luck in your quest!
Yeah the Gauley in WV, in the fall they open up the dam up river and it becomes one of the best rivers in the world to run.
The Jack Barker Memorial Canoe Race is in just 2 weeks. I’ll drop a flyer by the office. Sunday, 16 May 2010 at Wood Street park.

Thanks Mary Helen. I’m in.
